Hi Folks,
I’m very pleased to say that we recently received a grant of £30k via the government’s LEAF fund for work on energy efficiency around Brighton and Hove. Working with the Low Carbon Trust, the Green Building Partnership, Brighton & Hove 10:10 & the Brighton Peace and Environment Centre we’re offering FREE Home Efficiency surveys (worth 400 quid) to householders living in Hollingdean, Hannover or Portslade.
This surveys are intended to assess how to make your home cheaper and more comfortable to run. You’ll can benefit from a personalised report that details how to make your home more energy efficient. We look at the simple measures you can take – such as draught-proofing and wall insulation – and show you what cost-effective options could meet your needs.
There’s no catch: the Home Efficiency Survey will be yours to keep and follow up if, when and how you decide.
If you’re interested in the above, have a look at our delivery partners – the Green Building Partnership, contact them here – or give them a shout on 01273 961272.
Keep an eye out for other LEAF activities over the next month or so. Highlights include free DIY energy efficiency packs, energy efficiency info sheets, buying clubs – and a lot more. I’ll keep you posted.
Meanwhile as many of you will know we continue to wait for clarity around the feed in tariff. The government is currently deciding whether to take the issue to the supreme court, and thinking around the proposed community FIT tariff has not yet materialised.
Without clarity on FITs we feel that we must continue to wait before launching our pioneering solar project.
Frustrating, but we have some ideas as to how to proceed with or without FITs – I’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime, do take advantage of the free home survey – it’s a great opportunity to see how your house is doing!
Best
Will
