acroBrighton Energy Coop has raised more than £100,000 from its latest share offer – in just 12 days.

This is a fantastic achievement and many thanks to all of our new members, as well as existing members who have chosen to increase the number of shares they hold in BEC.

Within a few weeks we now have nearly half the total for our Phase 1 target – £230,800. This is to fund a huge solar array at Shoreham Port – see here for project details.

Investors are projected to receive a 5% return on their investment, as well as a 30% tax break on the amount invested. See financial benefits here and have a look at our share invitation here.

We aim to raise the £232,800 before 25th November – this will enable us to install the system before the scheduled drop in the Feed in Tariff from January 1. If you’re considering joining Brighton Energy Coop, therefore, please sign up as soon as you can!

Finally, I’m sorry to say that we’ve also had some problems with our online payment system. At present this is only able to take investments of up to £5,000. If you’re thinking of investing more than that then you can still join offline – or just drop me a line at info@brightonenergy.org.uk.
