Nestled in the Sussex countryside, Bolney Wine Estate is an award winning English wine producer. Guided by nature, sustainability is a key part of their ethos.  Brighton Energy Coop installed a 59kWp PV array on the roofs of the new winery & the main building in summer 2019. Across the year, the solar PV panels provide over 50% of the electricity required to produce half a million bottles of wine, saving the winery £1000’s on its energy bill, and over 20kg off its carbon footprint. So not only are the sun rays being captured in the luscious grapes, but they’re also powering the bottling plant too.

Bolney also hosts the first of BEC’s community-owned solar connected electric car charging points. Find out more here.
