The BEC electric car charge point network continues to grow. We’ve installed 3 twin charge points at the University of Brighton, 2 at the Falmer campus and a further one at Varley Halls of Residence.  BEC has solar PV on the roofs of several of the University buildings and the two organisations are very pleased to be working together again, to enable vehicle charging from locally generated, renewable electricity. The charge points can be used by staff, students or visitors to the university with a valid parking permit from 05.00 – 22.30 daily. Secure payments are made through the simple to use Pod Point App which is downloadable through the usual app stores.

“We’re very pleased to be part of the Next Generation project with BEC, encouraging sustainable travel choices of our staff and students who will be able to benefit from these fantastic facilities” explained Lucy Lisle, University of Brighton’s Sustainability & Travel Manager. “The opportunity to be part of this research and understand usage of the charge points is of particular interest to us, and will guide our future investment in such facilities”.
