Brighton Energy Coop and its members achieved the frankly amazing feat today of raising £100,000 in just 24 hours. This cash is scheduled for investment in new renewable energy systems in the south.
Many thanks to all of you who have joined recently – a big welcome! – and to existing members who have extended their shareholdings.
If you are interested in joining BEC then the last day to qualify for 30% EIS tax relief is TOMORROW. That means we must have your investment in our bank account by the close of business then. I’d strongly advise that you do the transfer tonight (Thursday) if at all possible.
If we do not receive investments by the end of Friday then we cannot guarantee you will qualify for EIS.
Please note that we are not receiving some bank transfers immediately. If you have an option when you make your bank transfer, select ‘immediate payment’.
Please also make sure that you fill in the application form on our joining page when you make your transfer so that we can identify your payment. We have received some transfers today with no application form – if that’s you could email us with name, address, phone number, and the payment reference on your bank transfer. Any investment that we receive after Friday night – or that we cannot issue a share certificate for – may not qualify for EIS. We will refund all such payments if desired.
